| Jo and George moved to
Story in 2003, but they were frequent visitors to our town
prior to that since Jo's folks have lived here for a long time.
They came from Ortonville, Minnesota. (Yes, they have those
special "o's" in their speech!)
George was born and raised as a South Dakota boy and attended Dakota Wesleyan University where he earned his BA in Education. He got his Masters in Education at South Dakota State University and spent 15 years as a teacher and counselor. George also worked as an insurance agent for 15 years and has been an owner/manager of rental properties for 12 years.
Jo grew up in Upton, Wyoming. She earned her B.S. in Education in Mayville, N. D. and taught for almost 30 years in Minnesota, South Dakota and Alaska. She has been the Story Branch Library Manager since shortly after their arrival in Story. George and Jo have two sons, two daughters and two dogs. The children are grown, the dogs are still quite young and when Jo says, "both like to golf, read, drink beer and talk smart," we have to assume they are speaking of the children and not the dogs. Jo and George have spent a lot of hours on one golf course or another. From the tales we hear, Jo is the ringer and you don't want to challenge her too often. George has "fix-it" skills...he has already taken care of the leak in our office coffee pot...and you can find him working on their house in his off hours. He likes C-Span for entertainment - and we're not sure what to make of that! When you are in Story, stop by and visit with our new agents. They are really enthusiastic about working with buyers and sellers in the Sheridan, Story and Buffalo area. Oh, and beware of the office dog. Ms. Biscuit is our agent in charge of Dog House Sales, but she is experiencing a down cycle right now and can be found most often watching over Jo and George like this...
