There
were many people grateful for being able to get a few essentials before,
during and after the storm...like beer, cigarettes and candy which
ranked as the best sellers!
Also 20 Mennonite ladies were stranded by a pile-up on I-90 and found refuge in the Story Woman's Club. The PCG and other community folks donated sleeping bags, cots, blankets and food to keep the ladies comfortable during their unplanned stay in Story. Patty was able to prepare meals on the propane stove even when the power was out. She says she had fun, but her cat, Snow Toes, refused to go outside. |
